Part 2

0005 - Preface

Not really much knowledge here, but, its good to know as well.

0005a - Tips and Pointers

< empty >

0005b - Key Combos

Here is a vital point of any successful gunzer. You have to find a nice key combo that helps you play more efficiently. In other words, you don’t want to be using a Key combo where the keys are spread all about the keyboard, that isn’t smart what so ever. The efficient way is to reduce movement of the fingers and make keys that are some of the default, and some new keys. I wouldn’t really suggest doing too many new keys at one time, as it will really confuse you, because your hands will be wanting to follow the same pattern they are used to, not the new combo you just set up.

0005c - Armor Priority

Armor is an important part of a heavy hitter. You don’t want to have very good weapons without armor, unless of course you are the type who intentionally doesn’t wear armor to find a good challenge . Let me say that I think armor priority is based upon a weight to AP ratio, this meaning you want the most AP you can squeeze in for the least amount of weight. That being said, you need to look at what you HAVE equipped and what you WANT equipped. Heres my version of the priority of the 6 armor item types first. Left of < = Get rid of first, Right of < = Get rid of last.

Jacket < Pants
Gloves < Boots
HP/AP Ring = +Wieght Rings

0005d - The difference between a move and a Technique

Well, to put this simply, A move is something that is like a Slash shot, But a Technique is a combination of 2 or more moves used in a way that is effective, like Dragon Flight Technique. That is basicaly all you need to know about this subject

Part 4

Post by 3vilMTV on Sun Nov 09, 2008 10:33 pm

0007 - Advanced GunZ Knowledge

I will be discussing about the advanced things in gunz here, with all the numbers you will need.

0007a - Lead Shot

For normal cases, these are the numbers and tips on how to aim.

10-30 Ping: With this ping your shots will hit almost exactly
where you aim. Try to aim at the centre of the chest or feet.

30-50 Ping: With this ping try to aim at the outline of
the enemy's body. (Example: If your enemy is dashing left,
shoot the left side of their body)

50-80 Ping: With this ping aim about a body's length
ahead of the enemy. (Example: If your enemy is dashing left,
pretend there is a clone of the enemy on the left of the enemy,
aim for the clone.)

80-100 Ping: With this ping aim about two body's length
of the enemy. (Example: If your enemy is dashing left, pretend
there is two clones of the enemy standing side by side on the
left of the enemy, shoot the clone on the far left)

100-150 Ping: With this ping aim about three and a half's
body length of your enemy. (Example: If you enemy is dashing
left, pretend there is three and a half clones of the enemy standing
side by side to the left of the enemy, shoot the far left clone.)

For a easier grasp of this.

If you really need the exact numbers, 100 ping is in fact effectively 0.2 sec of delay.

0007b - Massive Damage

The max damage a massive can do is double the normal sword damage. It is based on range, the lowest damage possible is 10, while the highest is 48.

It is true, massive damage equates to how far you are away from your opponent when they use their massive.

Testing this and learning it is 90% pointless cause with the ping and distance lag you'll never know truely how far/close you are in an actual battle.

I would say average massive damage is... (with armor)

Rusty - 15
Military - 18-20
Light Weight - 17-20
High Class - 20-23
Devil Slayer - 25
Gold Sword - 29
Dark Karma - 20-22

These are just the mainly used sword....and they are VERY rough estimations for all I know these could be way off.

Also remember distance matters! Its possible to take a mere 5 damage from a gold sword's massive!

--I've re-checked and added my own estimates with that as a base

0007c - Hit Boxes

The mechanics for hit boxes in Gunz is really simple. There are only two hit boxes, each dealing different damage percentages to HP and AP. When there is no AP remaining, 100% of the wepaon's damge is taken away from HP.

1. Hits to the very upper chest + head deliver 75% of the damage to HP and 25% of the damage to AP.
2. Hits to the lower chest and below deliver 50% of the damage to HP and 50% of the damage to AP.
3. If the damage equates out to an odd number, health takes the lower amount and the extra point is taken away from armor.
4. Armor Points are global. It doesnt matter which armor pieces you're wearing, only the total number of points. Not wearing armor over a peice of the body does not effect that part of the body more or less than any other. 5. If you run out of AP, 100% of the weapon's damage is taken away from your HP.

0007d - Critical Rate

Critical rate is the percentage of total damage that is done directly to the HP.

Weapon-------------Critical rate(HEAD)-----------Critical rate(BODY)

Pistol----------------------75%-------------------------50%

Revolver-------------------89%-------------------------70%

Rifle-----------------------82%-------------------------38%

Sub machine gun-----------57%-------------------------28%

Machine gun---------------69%-------------------------38%

Rocket launcher**---------68%-------------------------40%

Shotgun-------------------45%*------------------------23%

Sword---------------------N/A--------------------------65%

Kodachi--------------------N/A--------------------------61%

Dagger---------------------N/A--------------------------77%

*Give or take 0-10% on the headshot from the shotgun.
**Rockets percentage was based off direct hits NOT splash damage.

I'm doing a full guide.
And the limit for each post is wayy to little.
Based on estimate, just the kstyle might take up 2~3 post.
